How to Become a Member Financial Statement Links
A special "Thanks" to all of you who have sent in the Member Survey (link above). Your input will help us to make certain that your association is doing the right things. It's not too late to send in a survey if you haven't already done so. Also, a "Thanks" goes out to all who recently sent in your dues. It appears that your association is going to have an all time membership high. This will make your association stronger and more useful. If you haven't paid your dues yet, please do so as soon as possible.
Information on how YOU can become a member (or renew membership)
Membership is vital to the Association. Our sources of income are limited to dues, donations, and the sale of class lists. Each year our annual newsletter printing and mailing cost consume almost all of our annual income. But we feel that keeping our ex-students informed is vital and important. Our dues are very low. An ex-student may join the association for $10/year and a member and spouse is only $15/year. We have no paid staff and all of our finances are aimed at our central purpose; keeping you informed. Please help us by paying your dues each year on a timely basis.
Later on another page you will find our financial statement for 2004. Click here to see it. You will note that almost all of our expenses are paid to outside vendors with the lions share (pun intended) being paid to the US Post Office and the printer who prints our newsletters.
In the past, we have mailed out over 7,000 newsletters in a year. We have mailed them to both members and non-members. In fact, we have sent them to anyone that we found to have a link to BHS by having been a student there. Unfortunately, it appears that we can no longer do that. The expense is just too great to send newsletters to non-members. Help continue to receive your newsletter by paying your dues. On another page, you will find a brief survey for you to tell us what you want from your association. Please take the time to complete it. You can find it here.
